The apodectes are financial magistrates of the Athenian democracy during antiquity. They are drawn among the citizens sitting in Ecclesia.

Created by Clisthenes, their role is equivalent to that of the colacrete they replace. Indeed, the 10 apodects have the role of redistributing public funds collected through taxes and the exercise of justice.

A reform of Pericles adds to their role that of paying the tribole, that is to say three obols that are paid to the judges as fees.
