Bob Lazier


Bob Lazier (Minneapolis (Minnesota), December 22, 1938) is a former American car driver. He participated in the Champ Car Championship of 1981. Bob Lazier is the father of Buddy Lazier and Jaques Lazier. Career

Lazier only rode a season in the Champ Car. In 1981 he ran the eleven matches from the championship for the Fletcher Racing Team. He finished three times in a top 5 place in a match. On the Riverside International Raceway he became fifth and became fourth in both races held in October on Watkins Glen and at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, Mexico. During the 65th Indianapolis 500 held that year he had to give up after 154 laps due to a mechanical problem on his car. He became ninth in the final of the championship which earned him the rookie of the year.
