Deck (De Deset in Amhara) is the largest island in Tanameer in Ethiopia with about 16 km. It belongs to the Woreda Achefer in the Mirab Gojjam Zone. The population is about 17,000. During the rainy season, the island regularly floods, partly dividing it into two. The deck is covered with jungle and you will hit the mangrove forest along the banks of the river. The island is accessible by ferry as a stopover on the Gorgora-Bahir Dar route.

On the island are seven monasteries, namely Daga Estifanos, Narga Selassie, Kidist Arsema, Kotamariam, Zibad Eyesus, Djoga Yohannes and Gadena Giorgis. The best known is the monastery Narga Selassie with a round-streaked church of limestone and wood with round colonnades. Deck was used by the medieval Ethiopian kings and emperors. Apart from the banners, many people came to war refugees, for example during the invasion of the Somali General Ahmed Gragn in the first half of the 16th century and during the Osanese invasion during the reign of Emperor Tewodros II and his successor Tekle Giyorgis II .
