Diego Sobanos (or Sobaños) (Quintanarraya, province of Burgos) was a secular Spanish theologian. Biography
Arcediano de Villamuriel, canon of the Church of León and Rector of the University of Alcalá.
Shined for his science at the Council of Trent (third call). In 1558 he favorably censured the Catechism of Carranza, and was prosecuted by the Inquisition of Valladolid on March 29, 1559 for "approving erroneous doctrines" in said catechism, finally he was reprimanded, punished with a pecuniary fine and acquitted ad cautelam.
Relative of Andres de la Cuesta, bishop of León.
