Eddy Díaz


Eddy Javier Díaz (September 29, 1971; Barquisimeto, Venezuela) is a former baseball player. He played as a dexterous second baseman in Major League Baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1997.

In his season with the Brewers, Diaz connected 11 hits in 50 innings, for a .220 average, with seven RBIs, four runs scored, two doubles and a triple in 16 games.

After his short appearance in the Major Leagues, Diaz played in the Central League of Japan and the Korea Baseball Organization. LVBP

At the age of 19, he made his debut with the Navegantes del Magallanes in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League, during the 1990-91 season. In 1991-92 he won the Rookie of the Year award, and in 1995-96 and 1998-99 he won the Gold Glove as 2B and 3B respectively. These achievements were achieved with Magallanes, team with which he would play until 2005-06. After thirteen seasons with the Turks, Diaz spent in 2006-07 to Pastora de Los Llanos, and then retired in 2007-08 with the Cardinals of Lara.

In his league record, he won three championships with the Navegantes del Magallanes (1993-94, 1995-96 and 1996-97). In addition, as a reinforcement, he won the championship of the 2004-05 season with the Tigres de Aragua, where he won the Most Valuable Player of the Final award.
