Iolanthe or The Peer and the Peri is a British comic opera, music by Arthur Sullivan and libretto by William S. Gilbert, premiered in London on November 25, 1882 at the Savoy Theater. This is the 7th of 14 operas of the Gilbert and Sullivan tandem. The staging is one of the first to use the progress of electricity.
