Johan II of Twickelo


Johan II of Twickelo (1500) was a Twentieth nobleman who drove from Twente between 1494 and 1500. He was Lord of Twickel at Delden. Due to his marriage to Adriana van den Rutenberg, her ancestral goods came in possession of the Van Twickelo's. family

Johan II of Twickelo was the oldest son of Johan I of Twickelo (-1449) and Jacopje van Keppel. His sister Maria van Twickelo (-1536) was married to Otto van den Rutenberg to the Grimberg (-1524).

In or before 1470 Johan II married Adriana van den Rutenberg (-1513) from Dalfsen, daughter of Frederik van den Rutenberg and Agnes van Weerdenburg of Broeckhuijsen. After the death of her brothers, the family goods including the haszate Rutenberg and the Hof in Hengelo belonged to the Van Twickelo's.
