Phak Palang Prachachon

The Phak Palang Prachachon (Thai: พรรค พลัง ประชาชน - 'Human Power Party' or 'Party of People's Power'), abbreviated as PPP (Prajajan is Sanskrit for People), was a Thai political party. Her last party leader was Somchai Wongsawat, the last secretary general was Surapong Suebwonglee and last spokesman Kú-thep Saikrajarng.

On July 29, 2007, the former Thai Rak Thai Party (TRT) allowed its prime minister to enter the 2007 election as a candidate for the new PPP party. This was after the Thai Rak Thai was dissolved because of the ban on the Thai Supreme Court on May 30th of that year. For a large number of politicians, the one-issue party was a better solution. The former governor of the capital Bangkok Samak Sundaravej and former TRT deputy prime minister Surapong Suebwonglee were elected party leader and secretary general on August 24, 2007.

After some former TRT members approved the PPP support and became a member, the ruling junta was watching the party, especially as regards meetings. When this leaked, many became furious: the upcoming elections would make a clean ship and give the PPP a big win in the fall of 2007.

The electoral commission had deployed 200,000 commissioners as well as police officers to monitor security and order and to watch 1500 people at home and abroad in order for no election fraud to occur. Charnchai Silapauaychai, a popular member of the raised Democratic Party of Thailand, who made the transition to the new PPP, was killed. Five men, among whom the cousin of the powerful Prime Minister of the Democratic Party was arrested, but his case was filed.

The PPP party strategy in 2008 was to continue with the popular politics for prosperity for all of the former TRT government. The established PPP promised freedom of former TRTs, including retrieving former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinwatra to Thailand and discontinuing all charges against him.

But the party was also banned by the Thai Supreme Court after her election fraud was charged.
