Publius Silio Nerva

Publio Silio Nerva (in Latin, Publius Silius Nerva) was a Roman senator and consul of the first century BC. C.

The Silius Nerva have been registered as patricians under the government of Augustus. About Silio's family situation, almost nothing is certain; it is only known that he was the son of a Publius Silius. In the year 20 a. C., was chosen consul and, soon, was bequeathed in Hispania Citerior. In 16 a. C. was registered like governor of Iliria. There he won victories over the Illyrians and the tribes of the Alps. Perhaps it was that character mentioned by Suetonius who shared the table of Augustus and played dice with him often.

His wife was Coponia; of this union, was born Aulus Licinius Nerva Siliano (consul in 7) and perhaps Publius Silius (consul in 3). It is possible that Caius Silius was his son from a second marriage. Bibliography
