The Indonesian Government (Indonesian: Kabupates) is a regional government within the governance structure of Indonesia, located between the province (province or propinsi) and the suburban district (kecamatan). A regency can also be considered as the national counterpart of the Indonesian urban kota (otonom) (a city community, formerly called kotamadya).
