Arvid Wittenberg (* 1606; † 1657) was a Swedish Earl, Field Marshal since 1655.

Wittenberg entered the army of Sweden at the age of 16. He distinguished himself in the Battle of Wittstock (1636) and in 1639 was promoted to General.

Wittenberg was commander of the frank right of the Swedish army, in the battle of Breitenfeld (1642) and Jankau (1645). In the Second Nordic War conquered Arvid Wittenberg Krakow in 1655 and was appointed Commander in Chief of Warsaw. But it had to resign in 1656, after the siege of the Polish capital, by the king Juan II Casimiro. He died as a prisoner of war in Zamość (Poland). Literature
