Dawn (river)

The Aube is a river in France. It is 248 km long and is a tributary of the Seine. This river is called the department of Aube.

The source of the Aube is located in the department of Haute-Marne, on the plateau of Langres, near the town of Auberive. The river flows through the departments of Haute-Marne, Côte-d'Or, Aube and Marne. At Romilly-sur-Seine the Aube opens in the Seine. Along the river are the cities of Bar-sur-Aube and Arcis-sur-Aube located.

Grapes picked up on the slopes of the hills along the Aube can be used for the manufacture of champagne. The soil has been since the Kimmeridgien, a geological period in which the area was a shallow sea, lime-like and is full of fossils of shellfish like oysters.
