Henk Bruna


Henk Bruna (Utrecht, June 11, 1916 - Huis ter Heide, February 22, 2008) was a Dutch publisher and director of the office bookstore Bruna. He was a brother of A.W. (Abs) Bruna (1902-1996) and an uncle of draftsman Dick Bruna (1927-2017).

From 1935 to 1982, Bruna was the director of his own publishing house and chain of office bookshops.

In addition to these activities, Bruna was the cradle of the Dutch branch of the Round Table, an international men's societies association. On June 7, 1946, Bruna founded the first Dutch Table Round in his hometown of Utrecht. In 1949 he was appointed honorary member of the Dutch Table Round, and after his 40th, the age at which he was to say goodbye to the association, he continued to join the association. Also from 1947 to 1980, Henk Bruna was President of the Book Sellers College. Because of his great merits for this society, he became president of Eendragt in 1980.
