Millennium

Milenio is a newspaper, issued in Mexico. The newspaper is owned by the media group Grupo Multimedios.

Milenio has begun as a regional newspaper in Monterrey, but expanded throughout Mexico in the late 1990s. There are now eleven regional editions of the newspaper. In addition to the daily Milenio Diario, the newspaper also has a magazine, Milenio Semanal.

The newspaper is considered liberal, but is less pronounced in its political views than most other Mexican newspapers. Well-known employees are Joaquín López-Dóriga, Héctor Aguilar Camín and Diódoro Carrasco.

In September 2008, Milenio began a paid 24-hour news channel aimed at breaking the dominant position of Televisa and TV Azteca.
