Patricio Cajés

Patricio Cascese or (Spanish) Patricio Caxés or Cajés (Arezzo v. 1544 ~ Madrid 1611), was an Italian painter and architect who carried out much of his work in Spain where he arrived in 1567 along with Romulo Cincinato through Luis de Requesens.

He was hired to work in the service of Philip II of Spain from which he became a chamber painter, he continued with this position under the reign of Philip III of Spain decorating the rooms or rooms of several royal sites, fresh from the History of Joseph in one of the galleries of the Palace of El Pardo. He did some works in the streets of Madrid, among them the Hospital of San Pedro de los Italianos. He also owes a translation into Castilian of the Rule of the five orders of architecture of Jacopo Vignola. He was father of the Spanish painter Eugenio Cajés and teacher of Pedro of Guzmán.
