The award
The Snow Panther Submission (Russian: Снежный барс; Snezjny Bars) was a Soviet Russian award awarded to alpinists who climbed the five mountains of more than 7000 meters in the territory of the Soviet Union. In the Commonwealth of Independent States, the award is still granted.
The mountains in question are the Ismail Samanipiek (7495 m) and the Corsican shipyards (7105 m) in the present Tajikistan, the Ibn Sinopics (7134 m) on the border of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, the Victory Peak (7439 m) on the border of Kyrgyzstan and China and the Khan Tengri (7010m) on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Of these five, the Victory Peak is by far the toughest and hardest followed by Khan Tengri, the Ismail Samanipie, the Corsican Society and the Ibn Sinopics.
In 2016, Pool Andrzej Bargiel climbed the five peaks in one climax expedition of 29 days 17 hours 5 minutes.
