Hero of the Day is a song on the sixth Metallica album, Load, which was also released as a single in 1996. The song lyrics speak of people looking for heroes in the media without realizing it that can be found in everyday life. It was the first song recorded for the album which includes, Load, having been made in December 1994.
The solo of this song is quite simple and melodic at the same time, it also has a rather complex guitar structure.
The music video of the song was directed by Anton Corbijn, and presents a man watching television, while in all its channels Metallica appears in some form or another through films, contests, news, commercials etc. p>
