Shinden Fudo Ryu is a martial arts school organized in the 12th century by Genpachiro Tameyoshi, who had learned the basics of Izumo Kanja Yoshiteru's combat, which was the first Sôke of this school. Some sketches of Chinese boxing called Kenpō can be seen at this school. Specialized in techniques of desenvaine and blows with the feet and hands.
The essential point of this school is the knowledge about the natural way of defending and moving. The Taijutsu of this school is based on Jutai jutsu (dislocations, projections and controls) and Dakentai justu (striking techniques). The school uses in addition to Muto Dori (defense to sword), also a variety of Yari (spears), Ôno (battle axes), Ô Tsuchi (battle hammer) and Naginata (halberd).
Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi is the 26th Sôke of this school. Related Links
