The SS-Oberabschnitte were the main districts of the SS, which were introduced in November 1933. The division of districts was based on the former district division of the SA.
The SS-Oberabschnitte (Oa) included multiple SS-Abschnitte and was generally led by a Group or Obergruppenführer. A Oberabschnitt was comparable to a division of the land force.
