Ba (巴) was one of the Warring States in China. It lay in the south of the current Sichuan province. The capital has been moved three times by war threat.
Ba was a loose covenant of some noble families, who together recognized one king. Many had a connection with the strong neighboring state of Chu through marriage or trade. Nevertheless, both states had war once.
In 316 BC. Ba closed a covenant with Qin to conquer Ba's other neighbor Shu. That ended, but immediately Qin King betrayed and attacked. In the same year, Ba was taken to Qin.
