Caribou is a port in Pictou County, Nova Scotia. Located on the Northumberland Strait, Caribou is named after the Woodland Caribou, who lived in the area until the Europeans removed them because of intensive hunting in the 19th century. Surrounding areas are also called Caribou, such as Caribou Bay, on which the village is located, and Caribou Island to the north.

Caribou became an important port when the federal government chose the place in the 1930s to be the terminus in Nova Scotia for a seasonal ferry to eastern Prince Edward Island. The service, operated by Northumberland Ferries Limited since its inception in 1941, carries cars, passengers and trucks to Wood Islands between May and December.

There is also a small ferry from Caribou to Pictou Island from the fishing port near the ferry terminal.
