Esau Fernandez debuted lights on May 28, 2005 in Jaén, cutting three ears in his first appearance. He debuted with picadores in Las Matas (Madrid) on May 1, 2009 in a poster completed by Paco Chaves and Juan Manuel Jiménez with steers of Apolinar Soriano.
