George Waldemar of Denmark

George Waldemar of Denmark (Bernstorff Castle, April 16, 1920 - Copenhagen, September 29, 1986) was a Danish prince from the house Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg.

George was the eldest son of Prince Axel of Denmark and his wife Margaretha of Sweden. He married on 16 September 1950 with Anne Bowes-Lyon, a niece of Queen Elizabeth II and ex-wife of Thomas Anson, fourth count of Lichfield. Thus, George became the stepfather of the famous British photographer Patrick Lichfield. The couple did not receive any children themselves. George Waldemar served the Danish government as a military attaché in London and Paris.
