Luis Villamil


Luis Manuel Pérez Rodríguez-Villamil (1955, Navia, Asturias) is a Spanish car driver.

Married and father of two, he ran his first career in the so-called "Operation Rainbow", one of the first initiatives to attract young promises, which took place at the Circuit del Jarama in Madrid on "Simca Rally II ".

He won the Renault 8 TS start cup in 1978 and the R5 Cup in 1981. Together with Luis Pérez-Sala, who later became a Formula 1 driver, he ran the Alfasud Sprint European Cup in 1982-83. In 1984-85, he participated in the European and Italian championships of Formula 3, thanks to the support of CAMPSA. He has been champion of Spain of cars in 1988, 1989 and 1995, on mounts Alfa Romeo and in 1999 was adjudged the Championship of Italy of Superproducción with an Alfa Romeo 156.

In 2003 and 2004 he participated with the team "Antonelli Sport", taking the 4th place in the Alfa Challenge 2003 and the 6th in the European Alfa Challenge 2004. In 2005 he joined the "PSR Group" team, 7th place in the European Alfa Challenge.

With this same team in 2006 he reached the 1st place in the Alfa 147 Cup and in 2007 the Alfa 147 Cup team championship and the second in the individual classification after his teammate Antonio Chacón. Awards
