Agraria Riojana


Acción Agraria Riojana was a Spanish political party in La Rioja province founded in Logroño in 1931. It was active during the Second Spanish Republic, agglutinating the conservative sectors of the agrarian Riojan bourgeoisie, small and medium proprietors, military, people related to the Catholic Unions and the Church. Its spokesman was the La Rioja newspaper, main spokesman of the Catholic Church in the province. Its most outstanding leaders were Ángeles Gil Albarellos, Tomás Ortiz de Solórzano and Ortiz de la Puente and Antonio Arnedo Monguilán. History

On November 8, 1931 he obtained his first representative in the Cortes, was Tomás Ortiz de Solórzano. In the elections of 19 of November of 1933 obtained two of the four possible deputies in the province, and were Angeles Gil Albarellos and Tomás Ortiz de Solórzano, the other two acts went to Miguel of Miranda Mateo (Traditionalist) and for Amós Salvador Carreras ( Republican Action).

In the elections of February 16, 1936, they won their greatest victory by winning three of the four deputies of the province, the fourth was awarded to Amós Salvador Carreras of the Partido Izquierda Republicana.
