Cortical column

A cortical column is a group of neurons located in the cerebral cortex whose reception fields are identical. Moreover, if we introduce a microelectrode perpendicularly through the different layers of the visual cortex, we will encounter for example only neurons that have the same orientation p , whether they have simple or complex receptor fields. In this example, it is an orientation column. There are also ocular dominance columns, as well as blobs and interblobs (or spots and intertaches) within the hypercolumns of the primary visual cortex.
