Flemish Heritage Library is a public library subsidized by the Flemish government for heritage libraries. The association is a collaboration of six Flemish libraries with important heritage collections. The participating libraries are located across Flanders, with at least one library in each province:
In Flanders, however, around 250 libraries and other institutions hold cultural or scientific important documentary patrimony, and about twenty of them preserve a top collection. The Flemish government's assignment therefore means that the Flemish Heritage Library focuses on themes that can benefit this entire field of conservation libraries.

In 2005, the Center for the Library of Antwerp (now the Heritage Library Hendrik Conscience) launched the Consultation Platform Preservation Libraries of Flanders. This partnership, later called Heritage Libraries of Flanders, aimed to map the conservation and heritage library sector in Flanders. This resulted in the inclusion of Flemish Heritage Library in the Cultural Heritage Heritage Decree 2008. The association was established in September 2008 and was officially presented in June 2010.
