George Pelecanos
George Pelecanos (February 18, 1957) is an American writer, producer and screenwriter of Greek origin.
BiographyHe was born in 1957 in Washington D.C. in a family of Greek origin that ran a cafeteria in Washington D.C. At age 11 he started working in the family cafeteria, which he took over at age 19 due to his father's illness. Currently he continues to live in the same neighborhood where he grew up in Washington D.C. with his wife and three children. Work TV
Pelecanos has been a screenwriter since 2002 on The Wire of the HBO network, and subsequently became the producer of it, the creator of the character that appears for the first time in the third season Dennis "Cutty" Wise.
He participated as a screenwriter in the Treme series of HBO.
