Jean Brichaut


Jean Brichaut (Liège, July 29, 1911 -?, 1962) was a Belgian football player who acted as an attacker. He played in First Class at Standard Liège and played 12 interlands with the Belgian football team. Career

Brichaut debuted in 1929 as an attacker at the former First Class Standard Liège and soon acquired a base. Together with Jean Capelle he formed a strong attack duo with the team. Brichaut joined the team second in 1936; Standard lost the country title still in extremis to Daring Club Brussels after losing in the final match. Brichaut also set a point behind his senior career at the highest level. In total, he played 163 matches for Standard and scored 103 goals.

Between 1932 and 1936, Brichaut played 12 matches with the Belgian football team. Usually he co-operated with Capelle's team-mate. In total, he scored three goals in these matches. Brichaut was in the presidential election for the 1934 World Cup in Italy but did not play any matches at the end.
