J.M. (Jeroen) Staatsen (21 October 1947) is a Dutch mayor.
Staatsen began his political career as a councilor for the VVD in Gouda. Later he became Rijksecretaris in Rheden and in 1989 he became Registrar of the Provincial States of Overijssel.
As of January 1, 2001, Staats became Mayor of Den Helder. In 2005, he offered his resignation, after all retirees had retired.
In 2006, Staats was asked to become Mayor of the municipality of Voorschoten, after Mayor Wilma Verver-Aartsen became Mayor of Schiedam. He had previously been acting mayor of Teylingen. Later he also applied to become Mayor of Voorschoten. As of May 1, 2007 he was appointed in this function. As of May 1, 2013, Staatsen was re-appointed as mayor of the municipality of Voorschoten for a period of 6 years.
Since September 1, 2016, Staatsen is acting mayor of the municipality of Zevenaar. In Voorschoten on September 21, 2016, Pauline Bouvy-Koene was appointed acting mayor to temporarily follow states there.
