Martinus Pelinck


Martinus Pelinck (Maastricht, May 18, 1904 - Norg, June 30, 1972) was a Dutch mayor. Life and work

Pelinck was a son of the vice president of the arrondissements court of Assen Mr. Hendrik Pelinck and the Secretary of the Provincial Association of the Green Cross of Drenthe Wilhelmina Jacoba Zijnen de Gier. Pelinck became mayor of the former Drentse municipality of Oosterhesselen in 1933. In 1937 he was appointed mayor of Norg. The mayor's office of this place would be completed until 1963. At the Brink in Norg is a large white manor house, where he lived as mayor during his term of office. Behind the house is a small forest with canals and bridges. This 'estate' is still called 'Pelinckstuin' in Norg.

Pelinck married 27 May 1933 with Maria Jacoba Hendrika Westra of Holthe, of which three children were born of this marriage. Pelinck was a chamberman in special service of H. M. the Queen. He was a knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau.
