Metal (Annihilator album)

Metal is the twelfth studio album by the Canadian thrash metal group Annihilator, released in 2007.

Guitarist Jeff Waters is in charge of playing the two guitars and bass, Dave Padden of vocals and drummer Mike Mangini (he had been the drummer for Annihilator on the 1993 album Set the World on Fire and All For You, 2004). Unlike the previous albums of the group, in the album also participate different known musicians worldwide that appear in the album like invited artists. The idea of inviting different musicians from other metal bands came to Jeff Waters after, when the album was almost finished, the North American group's trivium guitarist Corey Beaulieu called Waters and asked him to , if the album was still not finished, if I could play a guitar solo. Waters agreed. That same day, Waters spoke to Swedish guitarist Arch Enemy Michael Amott and asked him to play one of the singles on the new album. And so, Waters was getting in touch with different musicians to play different solos from the album Metal.

Although most guests are guitarists who collaborate with a guitar solo, the album also features Canadian singer Danko Jones and singer Angela Gossow of the group Arch Enemy, who sing in the song Couple Suicide. Even so, the original singer, Dave Padden also participates in this song but only as secondary voice. Waters (as he had done on the band's last two albums) also sings on one of the songs on the album, in Operation Annihilation.

Unlike the group's previous album, Schizo Deluxe, the album has more variety of style since it is not only limited to thrash style but also addresses other styles within heavy metal. songs Credits
