Angiopatía

Angiopathy is a medical term that refers to a disease of blood vessels, such as an artery, a vein or in capillaries. The most prevalent and well-known is diabetic angiopathy, one of the potentially fatal complications of chronic diabetes.Another frequent angiopathy in the elderly is cerebral amyloid angiopathy, present in disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and an important cause of intracranial hemorrhage. Classification

There are two types of angiopathies, the macroangiopathy, characterized by a blockage and obstruction of the blood flow by deposits of fat and blood clot, and the microangiopathy that produces such thickening of the vessel wall that causes bleeding, protein leakage and considerable decrease in blood flow through said vessel.
