In 1989 he was nominated by the Konex Foundation as one of the best dancers.

He danced with Maya Plisetkaya and participated in the film "Los Aos y los Otros" by Claude Lelouch.

He died on 30 / November / 1992, in Lausanne and was honored by many choreographers: Maurice Bejart with his "Ballet for Life", Denys Ganio "Tango a rose for Jorge Donn", Grazia Galante "Chewing Dreams"

This day should not be confused with the National Day of Dance that is commemorated on October 10 in homage to the dancers of the Teatro Colón, who died in one of the worst aerial tragedies in Argentina, which occurred on October 10, 1971.

One year after the tragedy, the monument that evokes the missing dancers was inaugurated in Plaza Lavalle, just meters from the corner of Tucumán and Libertad. The sculptural work belongs to Carlos de la Cárcova and represents the dancers Norma Fontenla and José Neglia. The decorative fountain was created by the architect Ezequiel Cerrato.
