Lateral epicondyle

At the tip of the arrow, the lateral epicondyle of the humerus.

The lateral epicondyle is a small tubercular protuberance of the humerus slightly curved forward. It serves as the point of attachment to the radial collateral ligament of the elbow joint and to a common tendon at the origin of the supinator muscle and some of the extensor muscles. In birds, where the arm is a little rotated relative to other tetrapods, it is called the dorsal epicondyle of the humerus. In comparative anatomy, ectpicondyl is sometimes used.
