Chimisay or Socorro Beach, is a beach located within the municipality of Güímar on the southeast coast of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain). The term "Chimisay or Tymsay" means "supplications" in Guanche language.

Located in the hamlet of El Socorro, on the northern margin of the Malpaís de Güímar, there is a place called "El Llano de la Virgen", an enclave of great cultural, symbolic and religious significance, related to the miraculous appearance of the image of the Virgin of Candelaria and with the traditional Romería del Socorro.

Inside this enclosure there is a place called "Field of Ceremony" in which some milestones linked to the apparition of the Virgin to the Guanches are raised. The first of these milestones is the cross of tea that indicates, according to tradition, the place where the Guanches found the image.

The Government of the Canary Islands has recently approved the decree project by which 'El Llano de la Virgen' was declared a Site of Cultural Interest, with a Historic Site category. In addition, this declaration includes a clear delimitation of protection of the area for its conservation.
