Windskates is a sport where windsurfing is landed on land. This can be done, for example, by using a board with wheels instead of a regular surfboard, in many cases a mountain board, on which a "base" (or mast foot) is placed. The term windshields can also be used to designate variants that do not use a special board, but ordinary skates or a plain skateboard, with the athlete holding a loose sail in his hands to catch wind and speed .
Like windsurfing, windshields also feature different types of "boards", which are used in different styles. The two most common styles are freestyle and "cruise".
