View of Dornoch Firth

Dornoch Firth (Scottish Gaelic: Caolas Dhòrnaich) is a firth of the North Sea located on the east coast of Scotland and is part of the even bigger firth Moray Firth. The firth forms part of the border between the two Lieutenancy areas Ross and Cromarty and Sutherland.

Since 1991 there is a bridge over the firth to create a shorter for the A7 connecting Inverness and Thurso. Before that, you had to drive around the whole firth to Bonar Bridge. On the eastern edge of the firth, in the place of Tain, the whiskey distillery is Glenmorangie.
