FC Britannia Posen

FC Britannia Posen was a German football club from Posen, which is now Polish Poznan. History

The exact formation date of the club is no longer known. The club played in the regional competition of the town of Posen, which became a part of the Southeast German football federation in 1909. The first seasons it became Deutscher SV Posen that became champion and in 1913, Britannia finally managed to become a champion and put himself in front of the final. The club already lost the first round of SC Preußen Breslau with 0-1 and was disabled.

Because of the outbreak of World War I, the activities were shut down for a few years. The club's future existence is no longer known. In all likelihood, the club had to change the name like Britannia Berlin, Britannia Cottbus and Britannia Halle who did because Britain was the opponent in the war. After the war, Posen was surrendered to the new Poland to the Treaty of Versailles and, if still, the club was finally lifted. Erelijst
