Hôtel de Cabre

Hôtel de Cabre is the oldest still existing house in the French city of Marseille. It has been a historic monument since 1941.

The 3-storey building is located on the corner of rue de la Bonneterie and Grande rue, in the old quarter of Le Panier, part of Marseille's 2nd arrondissement. It was built in 1535 near the Vieux Port, commissioned by Consul Louis de Cabre, an influential city-map notepad.

At the time of the reconstruction of the port quarter after the devastating attack by the Germans in 1943, the house was turned 90 degrees. 43° 17′ 51″ NB, 5° 22′ 16″ OL
