Japan Hot 100

Japan Hot 100 Singles (also known as Japan Hot 100) is a count of the 100 most popular singles in Japan. The count is compiled by the Billboard and Hanshin Contents Link since February 2008.

The "Japan Hot 100" is based on the Billboard Hot 100. It is comprised of a data CD package on SoundScan Japan sales and Plantech radio audience levels. Although Japan has the largest number of downloads sold worldwide, digital download sales are not added to the count.

The first song to reach # 1 was the single Step And Go by the Japanese band Arashi. On May 5, 2008, the count for the first time placed a song by a non-Japanese musician, "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, then in 2011, so was "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga and later in 2013, Avril Lavigne also achieved with Here's to Never Growing Up and Madonna with Girl Gone Wild, being the only three artists to achieve it.
