The National Democratic Party (Slovenian: Narodnodemokratska stranka) (NDS) was a Slovenian political party, which was created after the Slovene Democratic League transformed itself into the Democratic Party in October 1991 (and later largely joined the newly formed Liberal Party Democracy of Slovenia). Out of displeasure over the line of the new Democratic Party, the national democrats split themselves off. After a short quarrel, their tragedy and influence soared (election result 1992: 2.18%) that the party was still in fact and ceased to exist in the 1992 election year. The two largest splinters joined the Slovene Christian Democrats (since 2002 New Slovenia) and the Social Democratic Party of Slovenia (since 2003 Slovenian Democratic Party). Famous people
