Promotion and Development Unit


The Units of Promotion and Development (UPD) are projects that collaborate in the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of the projects of Workshop Schools, Craft Houses and Employment Workshops.

The UPDs seek the development and employment potential of their territory, developing comprehensive intervention plans and development projects and promoting, either directly or in collaboration with the promoting entities, the labor insertion of the participants in said projects. < / p> Origin

The Program of Workshop Schools and Craft Houses, of the Public Service of Employment of Spain, was created in 1985 to fight against high rates of unemployment of young people with low educational levels and serious problems of labor insertion and social integration. < / p>

For this purpose, on the one hand, the existence of master craftsmen in trance of disappearance was exploited, using them as trainers, and, on the other hand, that of a rich historical heritage in need of actions that would stop their deterioration, promoting their rehabilitation.
