Stones Throw Records is an independent rap label based in California, United States. It was founded in 1996 by DJ Peanut Butter Wolf. His subsellos Now-Again and Soul Cal are specialized in the reissue of soul and funk records.
Stones Throw Records is the home of Madlib and many of his projects: Madvillain, Jaylib, Yesterdays New Quintet, Quasimoto, Sound Directions and Lootpack. Other artists who work or have worked with the label are DJ Babu, Rob Swift, Rasco, Breakestra, Oh No, Dudley Perkins, J Dilla and Koushik.
In 2006, the label announced the signing of Aloe Blacc, J Rocc, Roc C and Georgia Anne Muldrow.
