Bart Brinckman


Bart Brinckman (Mortsel, 1963) is a Belgian journalist. Lifecycle

Brinckman followed secondary education at the Xaverius College of Borgerhout and then studied New History and Press and Communication Sciences at the University of Ghent.

At the end of 1989, he started working on the Wetstraatredactie van de krant De Morgen, where he was headed by the political editorial office since 1995.

In 2000 he moved to De Standaard where he led the new editorial board Culture and Media for a small year. In the fall of 2001 he was promoted to the head of the Wetstraatredactie. Since March 2011 he is senior writer and commentator for the newspaper.

Since 4 March 2009, the moment when the independent research "Evaluation Study of the Additional Schelde Crossing in Antwerp" was presented to the Flemish Government, he followed the Oosterweel connection file for the newspaper De Standaard. Publication

In 2008, together with his colleagues Isabel Albers, Wouter Verschelden and Steven Samyn, he published the book The Sixteen is for you, a reconstruction of the formation of the first government Leterme. The same series in the newspaper won the Dexi Prize for the written press in 2009. Private

Bart Brinckman is married and has two sons. The family lives in Borgerhout.
