Monastery Urspring
The Urspring Monastery was a Benedictine Monastery for Nuns in Baden-Württemberg.
In 1127, the gentlemen Rüdiger, Adalbert and Walter van Schelklingen gave the place Urspring to the monastery Sankt Georgen, which founded a priority for Amtenhausen nuns here. In the thirteenth century the monastery acquired numerous possessions in the area, including the villages Hausen and Schmiechen. The guardianship of the monastery coincided with the delights of Berg and Schelkingen in 1343 in front of Austria. After the abandonment of the mother-in-law Sankt Georgen, Urspring was from 1802 to 1804 a priority of the Wiblingen abbey.
In the Peace of Presburg of 25 December 1805, Austria died before Austria, after which the monastery came to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1806. The monastery was then lifted.
