National Tea Party, Campo Viera, Misiones

The National Tea Festival is held in the municipality of Campo Viera in the province of Misiones and is a tribute to the efforts of the producers and the benefits of tea (infusion made with the dried or ground leaves of the camellia sinensis shrub). In the framework of the party there is an opening parade, technical sessions, industrial, commercial and artisan exhibitions, shows and the election of the National Tea Queen, among other activities. Argentina produces 60,000 tons a year of tea, becoming the seventh exporter worldwide. Due to the climate and ease of land Misiones concentrates 90% of the Argentine tea plantations, producing 50,000 tons of black tea per year. This allows to supply the domestic market and export to different countries, among which are: United States, Chile, United Kingdom, Germany, Kenya and the Netherlands.
