This article is a rough sketch about the culture of New Zealand.

Taha Maori is a New Zealand expression used in English and Maori. It means "the Maori side (of the question)" or "the Maori point of view", as opposed to the pakeha (non-Maori) point of view. It is the practice of following Maori customs and traditions even in a mixed Maori-Pakeha marriage, especially since the 1980s and the emergence of a revitalized and repopulated Maori culture. A person who accepts their Maori taha will often want to live in tune with the Maori tikanga.
