Charlie Smith (poeta)


Charlie Smith (June 27, 1947, Moultrie, Georgia) is an American poet and novelist.

Lifetime

He studied at the Phillips Exeter Academy and, after serving in the peace corps in Micronesia from 1968 to 1970, at Duke University and the University of Iowa. He has received glowing reviews of the New York Times and grants from the Foundation. Guggenheim, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. He received the Levinson Prize from Poetry magazine. He received the Aga Khan Award from The Paris Review for his story Crystal River. He has taught at the University of Alabama and Princeton.
