fire holder

A fire pot (also: firepit, fire pit or toner pot) is an object that was used to burn the top layer of peat so as to obtain fertile soil for buckwheat and other crops.

A fire pot is a cylindrical jar with slots attached to a long stick. The pot was filled with burning peat, which ran over the parcel to burn, with glowing hot cabbages falling through the slots. A fire basket is an iron basket that was used in the same way.

The glowing material caused the upper layer of the peat to flame, after which a spiky humic-like layer was created that was suitable for growing crops. This carnivorous culture was a form of robbery.
